so-cal

hope you are having a great memorial day weekend! i'm going to quickly share my layouts I made for the so cal kit gallery. this month I got venice beach (now sold out) and santa monica add-ons.  like i said in my sneaks post, this kit is really beautiful and I loved creating it with it. I accented my projects with a lot of red, specifically with jbs chili powder ink.  you probably can tell but I had tons of fun playing with vellum  and stamping this month too! :)
hey girl you love froyo- my main only layout(used only supplies from the main kit) + passport mister huey's ink, opaque white, black slick writer pen, kraft and white cardstock.
hey girl you love froyo
rock & roll- made this layout with add on four- totally died for the stamps in this addon. I cut out the word from the pennants to make it more useable for me as well as the paper clips.
additional products used: stazon jetblack ink pad, pinstripe mister huey's ink, versamark watermark stamp pad and charcoal zing (embossing) powder.
rock and roll

this is probably my favorite layout in my gallery this month and it fell together quickly. lots of vellum and stamping + red on this one as well. celebrate everyday
family treat-used my cameo to make the chrevron/arrow die cut, which is the focus element on this page. I added some duo chrome paint to the corrugated letters to add some dimension. family treat thanks for stopping by, xo

summer essentials

happy happy almost three day weekend, who's excited?! I am eager and ready (finally going to see the hunger games movie), also ready to check out duets tonight. I love Robin Thicke and the concept seems cool. I don't really watch talent shows but this one has my interest, maybe because vampire diaries is done??? So in my quest to be a better blogger, I was thinking of summer last night and voila this post! I love preparing for summer, enjoying longer days and sunnies everyday all day!

I picked up these loves yesterday at h&m, I have a collection of sunglasses and most well all of them are oversized. I like them best for my face shape and mostly are black but these are tortoise so didn't think twice about the purchase.

snapped a pictured of my fotd (face of the day) products, my routine usually stays the same but in the summer I loose the foundation and only use mascara, eyeliner, sometimes eyeshadow (either nudes or smokey eye),concealer, bronzer (used for blush, really gives a healthy glow), highlighter and lipstick (either nude or red). *urban decay de-slick gel is a daily necessity for the summer for combination skin too.

a quick share of what I think is essential + perfect for summer.  love incorporating color with accessories and with my nails. less is more with with everything else especially when it comes to beauty and keeping cool. some of my favorites are neon, coral blush, chucks (can't believe it took me so long to own a pair), fedora, non-sticky lipgloss (love this covergirl wetslicks in guava splash 505) gives the appearance of your lips but better effect. I love using a blending tool for makeup (perfect for tinted moisturizers or liquid makeup)for ultra sheer application in the summer.

off duty-friendship

okay, i'm back again with another post... wahoo! my friend danielle came up to see me over the weekend and I had a blast hanging out with her again. the last time I saw her was 2+ years ago, hope to get down to see her in florida soon. we couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend (the weather was awesome), late night chats, laughed so hard until my stomach hurt and of course a trip into the city. i feel really lucky to have really awesome friends and all from this hobby love passion.
fell in love with this wood flag  in forever 21, thinking this would be an awesome diy project! noted

we accidentally found the Renwick Gallery which is located steps from the white house. one of the finest collections of american craft in the united states is on display here. we both loved this piece of art and so many more sculptures and paintings.

studio calico so cal sneaks

these are a few days late but here are two sneaks of the so cal june studio calico kit! I loved this kit a lot more than I initially thought I would. But I must say that now I've worked with it that I am madly in love with the main kit. It has tons of exclusive products and the exclusive stamp set is super CUTE and so me. The fist sneak image is of the addon kit-venice beach. The stamps are out of this world amazing (will work with PL projects so well) and I had a lot of fun using vellum and embossing powders while creating it. The second sneak is of the main kit-so cal. I love the "beach/summer" feel of this kit. I finally dusted off my typewriter again and used it for my journaling to give it a nostalgic feel. I am guesting at Shaina's blog (she is celebrating the relaunch of her awesome blog) today and sharing my thoughts on how to celebrate the everyday. thanks for looking and happy monday to you again! I think this is going to be a good week, rain and all! xo
